Why Vaccinate?

Our Immunization Program aligns with the Kentucky Immunization Branch’s vision and mission:

  • Vision: Living free of vaccine-preventable diseases.

  • Mission: Prevent, promote, and protect through education and collaboration to eliminate vaccine-preventable diseases in Kentucky.

Vaccinations are a cornerstone of public health, providing protection against serious diseases for individuals and communities. By stimulating the immune system to recognize and combat pathogens, vaccines prevent illness, reduce healthcare costs, and save lives. High vaccination rates contribute to herd immunity, safeguarding those who cannot be vaccinated.

Vaccine Schedule: Birth-6 Years

Protect your child’s health during their early years with recommended vaccinations. From birth to age 6, these vaccines guard against serious illnesses, helping your little one grow up strong and healthy.

Vaccine Schedule: 7-18 Years

Ensure your child stays protected as they grow. Vaccines for ages 7-18 provide crucial immunity during school years and beyond, safeguarding their health into adulthood.

Vaccines & Pregnancy

Vaccines are a vital part of protecting your health and your baby’s during pregnancy. Some vaccines, like the Tdap and flu shot, are recommended during every pregnancy to protect against serious diseases. These vaccines also help pass immunity to your baby, offering protection in the early months before they can be vaccinated. Talk to your healthcare provider about which vaccines are right for you during pregnancy to ensure a healthy start for your child.
